It's time to get stoked for Halloween and we've got a fun-filled weekend in Edmonton for you to do just that!

First off, the DedFest International Genre Film Festival has kicked off with an absolutely stunning line-up. Don't brush this festival off as a gore fest for fiends, festival curators Kevin Martin and Tim Rutherford search the globe for cutting edge narratives, new directors and stunning cinematography. I personally am looking forward to seeing THE BABADOOK, an Austraillian film directed by Jennifer Kent. Looks so good!

This year DedFest also is throwing their first Saturday Morning Cartoon Party! Curated by Kier-le Janisse, this all ages event will feature those favourite cartoons from the 1960's to 1980's that border on the spooky. Costumes are encouraged and all the proceeds go to the Stollery Children's Hosptial Foundation. That's horror with the heart of GOLD my friends. For more info, go to www.Dedfest.com

If that wasn't enough of a fun weekend, our pals from Wolf Cop are coming to town for a FREE screening at the Shaw Theatre on Friday night info here: http://ampia.org/screenings/join-us-for-wolf-cop/ Writer & Director Lowell Dean and CineCoup Producer and CEO J. Joly will be present for a Q & A as part of the StoryWorld Quest Transmedia Conference this weekend (October 24-26). Lowell and J. will also be speaking on a horror panel Sunday at 3:30pm with Tim Rutherford (The Last Video Store), Mike Vogel (Phrenetic) and Jesse Lipscombe, who will be representing Truckstop Bloodsuckers! Online Registration has closed, but walk-in day passes are available - I suggest you check it out: www.storyworldquest.com
